One Of My Ugly Ones
On Sunday I was lamenting to Rachael that some cards you envision just turn out to be ugly no matter how much you've planned or how much effort you put into them. It goes without saying that I end up with more ugly ones than Rachael; after all, she's the one with the artistic talent. I have a Big Shot machine and wanted to play with some of the dies I have, and I also wanted to combine Real Red with Daffodil Delight. Why Real Read and Daffodil Delight? Who knows. I suppose I thought the card would turn out to be cheerful and uplifting. Instead, it turned out to be ugly with a capital U. The card took a lot of work, too, making the end result doubly disappointing. Here's what I used:
- Stamp Set--Match Box Messages
- Designer Series Paper--Cerise (an oldie but a goodie)
- Card Stock--Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi
- Inks--Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi
- Punches--1 1/4" and 1 3/8"
- Real Red Buttons
- Linen Thread
Better luck next time, eh?--Lissie

OK...maybe you posted the wrong card because I think this one is cute! I love the buttons in the middle of the flowers and the sentiment.
I like it.
Oh, man, I forgot to comment!
I LOVE red and yellow as a color combination. Maybe I'll give it a go...:o)
I also don't think it's ugly - at all! I like it and really like the color combination!!!

Absolutely not ugly at all.
Well, I'll be honest and say I think it isn't your best effort. I LOVE red, yellow and aqua together... a cool retro vibe. I don't know, I think maybe the flowers things in the middle are too big and the print around the border is too busy? One or the other, maybe?
Leave it to your youngest daughter to be the mean one in the comments!
Definitely NOT ugly!
